"What's your biggest weakness?"

"Honesty."

"I don't think honesty is a weakness."

"I don't give a fuck what you think."

Chigwell. Spot on. Always have examples of the things you're answering. If they are a good interviewer they'll ask for them, if they're not they'll appreciate them. I always ask for examples after someone has said they're good at something or experienced at something, it's great seeing it throw some people, but when someone answers with ease it is really helpful

Re: What is the best way to prepare for a job interview?
If it's a modern type of interview (as used in the civil service, almost without exception) they will ask you to describe examples of times when you have (for instance) resolved an issue with a customer, managed difficult staff, supported a new recruit, etc. It's very hard to bullshit about what you would do, when you can't tell them that you've done it before. The first time I had such an interview it completely threw me. Then I applied for a job which was much more suitable and answering that sort of question was a breeze.

Re: What is the best way to prepare for a job interview?
Speak with confidence

Don't say anything bad about your old company Its viewed as unprofessional

Try to get some information about the company/project you are being interviewed for(Sometimes you get question about that to see how keen you are)

Answer the questions directly, don't start waffling

If you don't know the answer to a question tell you don't know

Interviews are a load of a shit.

Interview them. Act as though they need to convince you that you will accept the role when they offer it to you.

Ask proper questions. Who is the line manager and how long have they been here (basically are they a cunt?), why is the role available, where is the person doing it gone, basically why the fuck should I take this job with your shitty company.

Be polite.

It's always worked for me.

Re: What is the best way to prepare for a job interview?
I’d probably think someone who said ‘Can I take a moment to reflect on my experience before answering ‘ a bit formal.
Or mental

As said I’d look at their website and have a question about their business that shows you have done that ready.
Or a couple as they might answer the first one before you get the chance to ask.

Also don’t ask a female interviewer if there are any hot chicks in the office

Re: What is the best way to prepare for a job interview?
The best way Is to remember this:

It's not an interrogation. They actually want to hire you or they wouldnt be seeing you. No one likes doing endless rounds of interviews, dealing with agencies etc. They want to see one good guy and just get it done. just be that guy.

So just go into the interview, give them a reason first up to like you as a person (they'll decide that within the first few mins, so firm hand shake, some eye contact, smile) and then just be positive. If you think you might be close to rambling, ask if youve given enough detail or they'd like you to expand further. If you feel like your rushing just before responding just say "can I take a moment to reflect on my experience in answering?" and take that moment to collect yourself and answer.

As for questions. Stick to 2 questions that are easy for them to answer but shows some thoughtand interest in being there. E.g. "whats the culture like?". "What's the best thing about working there?" and maybe then one that is very role specific that is the sort if question someone starting in their first couple of days would be sensible to ask in order to get themselves up to speed quickly. Will make you seem smart and again let them imagine you in the role and doing thw right things.

Good luck.

I interviewed a bird who went out for a line half way through an assessment with me. It was only me and her and I would've given her the job but she'd failed the interview part so was out of my hands

If it's an American company, make sure you carry a high-powered weapon..

You want them to know that you are a responsible citizen.

Re: What is the best way to prepare for a job interview?
A few years back I had an interview exchange that went like this:

Them: In a perfect world what would your ideal job be.

Me: Hmmm, probably photo journalism, wildlife photographer, or an historian.

Them: So why didn't that happen?

Me: Because it's not a perfect world.

I got the job.

read the website, one question i always like to end with is " is there anything that you've heard today that stops me getting the job" if there is you can go over that point again
